Vitamin HB | Pucker Up!

DAILY DOSE | NATURAL REMEDY
By Huda Heidi Kattan

Almost every time I do makeup for a client, one thing I always give extra attention to is the lip area.  Our lips don’t have any oil glands, and therefore have no way of replenishing themselves. That means it’s up to us to make sure these babies get all the moisture they need!  It’s important to always carry a chap stick in your purse and to apply as needed.  And remember, it doesn’t matter how expensive your lip product is, it’s the constant care that will make a difference and keep your lips from looking rough, and nothing is hot about peeling skin!

Try this at-home lip scrub which will help fight dry lips.

Lip Scrub:

Ingredients:
1/4 cup sugar
3-5 drops peppermint oil
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon olive oil

  1. In a bowl, mix together sugar, peppermint oil, honey and olive oil.  Add water sparingly. You want to create a thick paste.  Mix thoroughly.
  2. Take a warm wash cloth and hold over lips for 5 minutes. This will cause the dead skin to soften up.
  3. With your hand, take a small portion of the scrub and gently rub on lips in a circular motion.  Do this for 1 minute.
  4. With the warm washcloth, wipe off scrub.Finish off by using your favorite lip moisturizer.
