Summer is in the Hair!

By Huda Heidi Kattan

Looking for a great hairstyle this summer to help keep you looking and feeling cool? Check out these great hair styles and how-to’s from Allure magazine.

1. Hot Bun

Humidity and gorgeous hair just don’t go hand-in-hand! A great way to fight humidity is to move your hair with it, up! While hair is wet, gather at the top of the neck and wrap it around into a little bun, secure it with an elastic and use hair pins if needed. Remember, avoid using products with heavy alcohol content like hair spray, instead try using a shine spray and a small brush/tooth brush and brush over any areas where frizz is prone.

2. Head-banded Hair

When selecting a headband it is crucial to take into consideration the structure of your face shape.  If you have a round face, it is best to find a headband that is flat. Heart shaped faces look better with a thin headband and oval shaped faces look great with thick bands. Simply tie around head from underneath the hair and accessorize with large shades (optional).

3. Loose Braids

A great way to make braids look chic is to start the pony tails below the ear.  This allows the braids to naturally loosen and gives you a sexy care-free look!

4. Textured Ponytail

According to hairstylists, Antonio Prieto of Antonio Prieto Salon in NYC, the best thing to do after a day at the beach is put your hair into a low ponytail (middle of neck) and simply run your fingers through it. Simply apply some serum if neccessary and pull your hair straight back so that there is no obvious part.
